Twitter Stops Enforcing COVID-19 Misinformation Policy

Twitter will no longer enforce its Covid-19 misinformation policy, under which users who deviated from prevailing establishment narratives frequently had their accounts locked or suspended.
The longstanding policy did not apply to misinformation from government officials, who regularly lied about things such as transmission, masks, vaccine efficacy, side effects, or any of the other ‘science’ which turned out to be patently false.
Twitter did not officially announce the change, rather, the company added a note to a page on its website outlining its Covid-19 policy.

Zelensky in a Wednesday appearance at The New York Time’s DealBook Summit – an event which funny enough (or sadly) also included a live interview with disgraced FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, urged Musk to come and see Ukraine “with your own eyes” in order to understand Russia’s actions there.
“If you want to understand what Russia has done here, come to Ukraine and you will see this with your own eyes without any extra words,” Zelensky said during the discussion. “And after that, you will tell us how to end this war, who started it and when we can end it.”

De Nationaal Coördinator Terrorismebestrijding en Veiligheid (NCTV) adviseert burgers om een noodpakket in huis te hebben mocht het land door een cyberaanval of andere ramp worden platgelegd. De overheid lanceert morgen de website denkvooruit.nl om Nederlanders hierop te wijzen.
Volgens Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg NCTV is Nederland vanwege de digitalisering extra kwetsbaar. Er zijn veel afhankelijkheden gecreëerd, zo laat Aalbersberg tegenover het AD weten. “We hebben alles aan elkaar geknoopt”, en een analoge terugvaloptie is meestal niet beschikbaar. Terwijl de dreiging van aanvallen toeneemt, blijft de cyberweerbaarheid achter.
Tweede Kamer wil dat NZa stopt met verzamelen persoonsgegevens ggz-patiënten

De Tweede Kamer wil dat de Nederlandse Zorgautoriteit (NZa) stopt met het verzamelen van persoonlijke gegevens van 800.000 ggz-patiënten. Een motie van de SP en GroenLinks werd unaniem door de Tweede Kamer aangenomen.
Sinds 1 juli ontvangt de NZa informatie over gedeclareerde zorgprestaties inclusief de informatie die bij de declaratie op de factuur moet worden vermeld zoals het gekozen zorgvraagtype en de DSM-diagnosehoofdgroep. Psychiaters, psychologen en andere zorgverleners zijn verplicht om deze informatie aan te leveren. Vanaf 1 januari volgend jaar moeten behandelaars ook de antwoorden op de HONOS+-vragen doorgeven.
Alle 150 Kamerleden stemden voor de motie.
UN General Assembly demands full withdrawal of Israeli occupation from occupied Syrian Golan

New York, (SANA)-The United Nations General Assembly has renewed the adoption of a resolution by a majority of Member States calling on the Israeli occupation entity to fully withdraw from the occupied Syrian Golan to the line of June 4, 1967, in implementation of the relevant Security Council resolutions.
92 countries voted in favor of the resolution entitled “The Syrian Golan”, and 8 countries voted against the resolution while 65 countries abstained from voting.
NATO Members Discuss Ways to Confront China at Bucharest Summit

Syrian Oil Minister Bassam Tohme announced on 30 November that the Turkish airstrikes on northern Syria, which began around ten days ago, have severely damaged the country’s energy facilities, including a gas plant, several oil wells, and electricity stations.

To ensure energy security this winter, Switzerland could become the first country to limit the driving and use of EVs. German daily Der Spiegel reports, citing multiple media reports on the Swiss four-stage action plan to avoid blackouts.
Driving EVs could be banned in Switzerland unless in cases of “absolutely necessary journeys” in stage three of the power conservation plans. The country also plans a stricter speed limit on highways in the recently proposed action plan, which has yet to be adopted.

Earlier this week CNN reported that the Biden administration is considering “dramatically” increasing its training of Ukrainian forces. The proposal would involve US advisers training “much larger groups of Ukrainian soldiers in more sophisticated battlefield tactics” at American installations in Germany, and possibly other locations in Europe. This could involve as many as 2,500 Ukrainian soldiers trained by US advisers a month, which over a half-year period would total 15,000 going through the proposed ramped-up US program.
“You shouldn’t say that the US and NATO aren’t taking part in this war. You are directly participating in it,” Lavrov told a press briefing.

Report: Ukraine Asks NATO For Leftover Afghanistan Funds

The failure of the European Union may have started with the choice of the flag. Not that state flags are supposed to be works of art, but at least they can be inspiring. But this flag is completely flat, unoriginal, and depressing. It looks mostly like a blue cheese pizza gone bad. And that’s just one of the many things gone bad with the European Union. It is the conclusion of a thousand-year cycle that’s coming to an end. It was probably unavoidable, but that doesn’t make it less painful.

EU leaders call for accelerated joint arms purchases to replenish reserves

BRUSSELS, December 15. /TASS/. EU leaders have called to speed up the joint procurement of weapons by member states in order to replenish military reserves after the provision of military aid to Ukraine.
“The European Council calls on the [European] Commission and the European Defense Agency to intensify ongoing efforts to identify needs and to facilitate and coordinate joint procurement, in particular to replenish stocks, notably in light of the support provided to Ukraine,” says the joint statement, adopted after the summit.
