Objectively… they were “evacuated” to Russian-controlled territory, by Russian forces, and the wounded taken to a Russian-controlled hospital.
The “paper of record” managed to completely avoid the reality that some 300 Azov militants surrendered – instead opting to suggest that somehow Ukraine’s forces decided to wind down their “combat mission”.

In Video: Flourishing City Of Severodonetsk Looted By Ukrainian Soldiers

The city of Severodonetsk in the Luhansk People’s Republic remains under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU). Russian-led forces have already taken control of the towns to the north and east of the city and reached the city’s outskirts. Fierce clashes were reported on the city’s bus station located in the eastern part of Severodonetsk.
A local citizen shared a video showing the city occupied by the Ukrainian military. The video proves that there are still civilians in Severodonetsk who were not evacuated by the Ukrainian authorities.
The footage shows some destructions caused by the artillery strikes. At the same time, it is clearly seen that the main destruction to the civilian infrastructure was caused by the Ukrainian servicemen deployed in Severodonetsk. Almost all the shops seen on the video were looted by the Ukrainian fighters. They robbed civilians as well.

The US general nominated to be the next commander of NATO suggested in a Senate hearing on Thursday that he may offer military options to facilitate grain exports from Ukraine and help break Russia’s blockade of Ukraine’s southern coast.
While Washington is blaming the global grain shortages on Russia’s blockade, there are factors, including US sanctions and the fact that Ukraine has mined its ports.
Russia announced Thursday that it cleared mines around Mariupol and that the Azov Sea port is now open to civil vessels.

The three aims of the Russian Federation’s Special Military Operation in the Ukraine were clearly announced by President Putin at the outset on 24 February. They were very specific, very limited and deliberately excluded the occupation of the whole of the Ukraine, let alone attacks on any territories outside it.
Moreover, any suggestion of the use of nuclear weapons was quite absent – that was only ever raised by the hysterical irresponsibility and propaganda of Western politicians and journalists.
Let us recall that the three aims were, firstly, the liberation of the Russian Donbass from the Nazis, and, secondly and thirdly, the demilitarization and denazification of the Ukraine as an ‘Anti-Russia’, created there by the West since 2014.
In other words, the Russian aim was to finish the unfinished World War II against Nazism and definitely not trigger a ‘World War III’.
