LONDON, March 31. /TASS/. Sanctions imposed by Western countries against Russia could lead to fragmentation of the global financial system and dilute the US dollar’s dominance in it, Gita Gopinath, the IMF’s first deputy managing director has warned.
“We are already seeing that with some countries renegotiating the currency in which they get paid for trade,” Gopinath told The Financial Times on Thursday.
“The dollar would remain the major global currency even in that landscape but fragmentation at a smaller level is certainly quite possible,” she noted.

Apple, Facebook and Discord gave user data to hackers posing as law enforcement

Apple Inc. and Meta Platforms Inc., the parent company of Facebook, and Discord have turned over user data to hackers posing as law enforcement officials, says a new report in Bloomberg.
The companies apparently fell for an email scam and turned some user data to cybercriminals who used hacked domains belonging to multiple law enforcement agencies.
The cybercriminals made bogus “emergency requests” for certain users’ information, Bloomberg News said in its report on Wednesday, noting the requests allegedly came in 2021 from real domains of law enforcement agencies in multiple countries.

Putin Signs Decree Ordering Gas Exports To Be Halted If Buyers Don’t Pay In Rubles

Contrary to expectations that Vladimir Putin was bluffing about collecting rubles in exchange for Russian energy exports, moments ago a decree signed by the Russian president confirmed that that was not the case.
According to Bloomberg, Putin said he had signed a decree demanding payment in rubles for Russian gas supplies, which is set to begin April 1 as previously reported.
According to the decree, while Russia will continue to supply gas at set volumes and prices, it will demand that buyers of gas open accounts in Russian banks, and warned that Moscow can halt gas contracts if buyers don’t pay in rubles; additionally, new proceedings in EUR or USD could be blocked.

India is considering a proposal from Russia to use a messaging system developed by the Russian central bank for bilateral payments as New Delhi isn’t following the US-led economic campaign against Moscow, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday.
Sources told Bloomberg that the plan involves using Russia’s messaging system, known as SPFS, for rupee-ruble-denominated payments. The proposal is expected to be discussed as Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrives in India for his two-day visit on Thursday.

“Polish propaganda is accustomed to pinning all problems on Russia, in this sense it is similar to that of the Baltics and Ukraine,” he told the Solovyov Live show, in statements later translated by state media. “On Polish television, without a twinge of conscience, they have displayed a map of the partition of Ukraine… Its clear that this cannot be done legally.”

Winston Churchill famously said, “In wartime, truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies.”
We accept that idea broadly. Secret invasion plans should be closely held. The identities of spies must be kept under wraps. New weapons and defensive tools should not be revealed because enemies will be alerted to their potential and begin offensive workarounds.
Still, just because the government has legitimate reasons to deceive the public in wartime does not mean that citizens don’t have a duty to find the truth to the extent they can.
The Russian-Ukraine kinetic war and the broader U.S.-Russian economic war are full of more lies than any public events I’ve seen in my lifetime including Vietnam, Watergate and the Iraq War.
That’s how big the lies are.

“The EU’s actions are not only driving the relationship with Russia into a deadlock, but are similarly jeopardizing the wellbeing and security of its own citizens, as well as the stability of the global financial and economic system,” the ministry said.

A DPR official said that both helicopters were shot down. Notably, the helicopters were allowed to land on the territory of Azovstal, and were shot down after taking off with the evacuees on board.
Ukrainian Forces Reportedly Blow Up Fuel Depot On Russian Territory In “Daring Cross-Border Attack”

Ukraine forces pulled off a rare attack on Russian soil Friday when two military helicopters destroyed a fuel depot in the city of Belgorod, situated roughly 40 miles north of the border with Ukraine.
The attack was purportedly carried out by two Ukrainian helicopters that crossed into Ukrainian territory. Videos circulating online purported to show Ukrainian Air Force Mi-24 helicopters flying low over Belgorod just before the strike.
While Russian authorities have confirmed the attack, some Ukrainian defense analysts insisted that the strike may have been a “false flag” planned by Moscow to further turn the tide of public opinion in favor of the war (although at least one recently released independent poll showed that the majority of Russians have rallied around the flag in support of the war, per the NYT).

The first tweet I saw when I checked my timeline this morning was from foreign policy analyst Clint Ehlirch, pointing out that the Russian ruble has already started recovering from the dip created by Western sanctions, and is almost at pre-war levels
Ehrlich states, “sanctions were designed to collapse the value of the Ruble, they have failed”.
…to which I can only respond, well “were they?”
…and perhaps more importantly, “have they?”
Because it doesn’t really look like it, does it?
If anything, the sanctions seem to be at best rather impotent, and at worst amazingly counterproductive.
It’s not like the US/EU/NATO don’t know how to cripple economies. They have had years of practice starving the people of Cuba, Iraq, Venezuela and too many others to list.

Kiev tries to prevent publication of evidence of torture of Russian soldiers — SVR

“The foreign intelligence is receiving confirmed evidence that after the publication of shocking videos of torture of Russian soldiers in Ukraine, the nationalist regime in Kiev has been taking measures to prevent the disclosure of such facts,” the news release reads.
The SVR said that according to available information, the Ukrainian authorities have been urging their Western patrons to persuade the International Red Cross and various non-governmental organizations to give up attempts to get access to Russian prisoners of war.

After answering the Ukrainian government’s call for foreign fighters this February, however, the American veteran quickly decided he was being sent on a “suicide mission” against the Russian military.
After escaping with his life, claiming his own allies had threatened to shoot him in the back, Hoeft posted a viral message advising other Westerners against joining the fight in Ukraine. Within days, he was at the center of a global information war, with the military for which he had volunteered publicly branding him a Russian agent.

Within days of the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Ukrainian regime applied for membership in the European Union.
This is understandable from the perspective of Kyiv. If Ukraine is going to be denied membership in NATO – as increasingly looks to be the case – The Ukraine regime could nonetheless increase its geopolitical connections to the West by joining in the EU. Moreover, given the fact the EU is moving toward creating its own EU military institutions, EU membership could mean membership in a Western military pact.
Rather, Ukraine would likely become a drain on the EU’s development and poverty-relief programs which have already spent more than 20 years flooding the poorer parts of the EU with wealth produced in the richer parts.
That is, wealth has flowed for decades from the north and west of Europe into the east and the south.

That’s the essence of less-is-more sophistication. Gazprombank will sell the foreign currency – dollars or euros – deposited by their customers on the Moscow Stock Exchange and credit it to different accounts in rubles within Gazprombank.

Footage shared by locals days ago confirmed that there were civilians killed in fierce clashes that broke out during the Russian withdrawal.
As soon as Ukrainian journalists reached the area, the streets of Bucha turned out to be covered by corpses. Obviously, Russian servicemen are blamed of mass shooting on civilians when leaving the area.

Western countries, which advocate a cessation of hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, continue to add fuel to the fire. European countries, the United States and the United Kingdom have been pumping Ukraine with weapons for years. After the start of the Russian military operation, supplies continued in larger quantities.
The Czech Republic has recently supplied Ukraine with T-72 tanks and armored personnel carriers. The Ministry of Defence acknowledged the supplies. A column of ex-Soviet Heavy Armored carriers was spotted moving out from Czechia.
This may be some of the Equipment that Germany has recently allowed the Czech Government to send to Ukraine.

US sanctions on banks ‘direct attack’ on ordinary people: Russia

Russia has condemned the United States’ fresh sanctions on two of its largest banks, saying they are a direct blow to the Russian population and ordinary citizens.
Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov made the remarks on Wednesday, after Washington announced a new round of sanctions against Sberbank and Alfa-Bank over Moscow’s military operation in Ukraine.
The Economist: Most of the world’s population lives in countries that are neutral or supportive of Russia

London, SANA- The British Economist magazine counted the countries that stood by Russia in its special military operation to protect Donbass population and those that remained neutral, recognizing that most of the world’s population are living in these countries that support the Russian position or take a neutral position.
The authors of the report divided the countries of the world into three groups; those who support the Russian position, those who are neutral and those who support the NATO position.

A whistleblower who’s fled the United States for Switzerland has vowed to drop ‘450 gigabytes of deleted material’ from Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop, which he says he also gave the the Washington Post, New York Times, and Sen. Chuck Grassley.
For the past two weeks, former Steve Bannon War Room co-host Jack Maxey has been hiding in Zurich, where he told the Daily Mail he’s been working with IT experts to dig more data from Hunter’s ‘laptop from hell,’ and that he’ll post it all online in a searchable database in the coming weeks.

Fierce street clashes continue in the city of Mariupol. On April 6, the DPR advanced in the area of the city seaport. The first footage from Russian drones from the area was shared online. This is a clear sign that the area was almost secured.
On April 6, Russian sources shared photos, taken by a drone, showing the Donbass command ship of the Ukrainian Navy in the Mariupol port, which sustained some serious damage as a result of a direct or an indirect strike. On December 9, 2021 the ship tried to pass through the Kerch Strait. It was captured in Crimea, but later returned to Ukraine.

On April 7, the mayor of the city of Kharkiv addressed the population to deny reports about any mass evacuation of civilians from the city. His claims once again confirm nazi warfare of the Kiev regime.
On the video, Mr. Terekhov claimed the following:
” Today, the media reported that the Kharkiv region is preparing for evacuation. I want to clarify, this concerns only the Lozovsky and Barvenkovsky districts of the Kharkiv region, where our military is expecting an aggravation of the military situation.”
At the same time, he assured residents left in the city that Kharkiv is ready to fight.

A viral tweet that remains unchecked by “fact checkers” claims to show a Russian-operated ‘mobile crematorium’ in Mariupol, but the image is taken from an 8-year-old YouTube video.
Whoops.
The tweet was posted by news outlet NEXTA, which boasts nearly a million followers on Twitter. The tweet has received over 7,000 retweets and almost 11,000 likes.
