During a meeting between Head of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Major General Stefano Del Col and a Lebanese army delegation headed by Brigadier General Haseeb Abdo at the UN headquarters in Ras Naqoura in southern Lebanon on Friday, the Lebanese side asked the world body to pressure Israel to stop its hostile practices, especially the use of Lebanon’s airspace to bomb Syrian lands and its continued violations of Lebanese sovereignty by land, sea and air.
The Lebanese army delegation warned of dangerous consequences if Israeli warplanes continue to penetrate into the country’s airspace.

Militants affiliated with the Kurdish-led and so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have reportedly abducted dozens of teenagers in Syria’s northern province of Raqqah, and moved them to their own barracks for training, as the US-backed militants continue to loot natural resources and public assets in the areas under their control.
Local sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Syria’s official news agency SANA that the SDF members raided the city of al-Thawrah, also known as al-Tabqah and located approximately 55 kilometers (34 miles) west of Raqqa, on Friday, and rounded up at least 45 teenagers between 14 and 16 years of age, and moved them to Ayed al-Jazeera camp.

It can’t be emphasized enough just how many taxpayer dollars are now being showered on the Pentagon. That department’s astronomical budget adds up, for instance, to more than four times the cost of the most recent version of President Biden’s Build Back Better plan, which sparked such horrified opposition from Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and other alleged fiscal conservatives. They have been shelling Donetsk and Luhansk, and killing Russian-speaking civilians, for years. Before that, in 2014, they torched the Trades Union building in Odessa while it was full of pro-Russian protestors, burning 42 people alive. Since holocaust means “burnt offering” or “fiery sacrifice,” only a Holocaust denier would deny that one.

The conflict in Ukraine is being used to fulfill US desire to sell expensive and environmentally harmful liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the EU, the lawmakers said.

As evidence, I call attention to a 2019 report by the RAND corporation to the U.S. Army chief of staff entitled “Extending Russia.” Actually, the RAND study itself is fairly cautious in its recommendations and warns that many perfidious tricks might not work.
However, I consider the very existence of this report scandalous, not so much for its content as for the fact that this is what the Pentagon pays its top intellectuals to do: figure out ways to lure other nations into troubles U.S. leaders hope to exploit.

Up until February 23rd, 2022, the powerful countries of the world played a very rarified game.
Too many people try to analyze geopolitics like it is a game of chess.
Move, counter-move. Push a pawn? Threaten a knight, that type of thing. It’s easy to understand and makes for good copy.
In the past I’ve tried to liken it to a multi-player version of Go, with anywhere from four to 6 different colored stones on the board trying to take territory. It was a better metaphor but nearly impossible to describe adequately. In fact, at times, it was exhausting.
The reality is that neither of these metaphors are explanatory.
Because the only accurate model for geopolitics is actually Calvinball.
