This consortium, which receives general support funding from the Open Society Foundations, founded by Hungarian-American billionaire George Soros, claims that the just-published documents represent “the most expansive exposé of financial secrecy yet”.
According to the ICIJ, the investigation involved more than 650 journalists from 117 countries. It reportedly includes 11.9 million leaked files “covering every corner of the globe”.

An accidentally unsealed court document reveals that the federal government secretly ordered Google to provide data on people searching specific search words or phrases, otherwise known as “keyword warrants,” according to Forbes.
According to the report, the Justice Department inadvertently unsealed the documents in September (which were promptly re-sealed), which were reviewed by Forbes. In several instances, law enforcement investigators asked Google to identify anyone searching for specific keywords.

Speedboats of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had intercepted a vessel of the US Navy in the Persian Gulf, a number of Iranian news sources reported on October 7.
The Iranian state TV aired footage of the incident. The footage shows several Iranian armed speedboats chasing after a Riverine Command Boat (RCB) of the US Navy. The fast assault boat was apparently escorting a US carrier strike group.

An extra 53.2 million cases — an increase of 27.6% — of major depressive disorders and 76.2 million cases of anxiety disorders have added to the number of people suffering from mental health issues, according to researchers.
